BRG Gives Thanks

This Thanksgiving season, BRG staff members participated in a food drive benefitting The Hunger Network of Greater Cleveland
as well as volunteering at the Bountiful Basement Hunger Center. A dozen volunteers helped package up and distribute turkey dinners during the days leading up to the holiday.

Little Race for a Big Cause

Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Greater Cleveland is a cause that’s near and dear to our hearts at BRG. BRG was a gold sponsor of the October 5K fundraiser to benefit BBBS and all its great work. BRG is Gold Sponsor for 2011 Summer Scurry Event

BRG is proud to be a Gold level sponsor at this year’s PMP Research Foundation Summer Scurry being held on Saturday,
August 13 at 8:30 am in the City of Independence Park. The event begins in the square on Brecksville Road and consists of a 5k walk/run & 10k race which helps to raise donations towards research for a cure for Pseudomyxoma Peritonei (PMP), a rare form of abdominal cancer. Representing BRG will be Joe Crea, Jim and Judy Machnauer, Stacie and Bill Geiger, Megan and Matt Baker and Caroline Cunningham.

Relay for Life of Independence

Megan Baker and Stacie Geiger have been very busy out in the community this summer. Not only did they participate in the BBBS bowling event, they were also actively involved in helping raise over $22,000 at this year’s American Cancer Society Relay for Life event at Independence High School. We couldn’t be more proud of their efforts! 

BRG Team Bowls for Kids’ Sake with BBBS of Greater Cleveland

A six-member team from BRG recently joined nearly 400 bowlers to raise almost $50,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Greater Cleveland. Thanks to the BRG Team – Jim Machnauer, Megan Baker, Stacie Geiger, Caroline Cunningham, and Dawn Trevillian for representing BRG at this worthwhile event. 

BRG and Boy Scouts of America

Chuck and Joe are Vice Chairs for the 2011 Good Scout Luncheon being held on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 in the Grand Ballroom of the Renaissance Hotel in downtown Cleveland. This is the largest fundraising event conducted in the Boy Scout Council and serves to highlight the strong commitment made to the Greater Cleveland area by the organization. All of the proceeds from this event will remain in Cuyahoga County, where the Greater Cleveland Council serves over 17,000 youth through more than 400 Cub Scout packs, Boy Scout Troops, Explorer posts and Venturing crews.

BRG at Northern Ohio Human Resource Conference (NOHRC)

Benefits Resource Group was a Diamond Sponsor at The 45th Annual Northern Ohio Human Resource Conference - "HumOR Resources: Imagine the Possibilities" on Friday March 11, 2011. Sponsored by Cleveland SHRM, the NOHRC is the premier HR Conference for HR professionals in Northeast Ohio. With over 550 registrants and more than 80 leading edge exhibitors in the sold out exhibit hall, we would like to express our sincere appreciation to all who made time to stop at our booth to introduce themselves and their organizations. Among our many visitors was John Gallagher, HR Director for Intigral, who was the lucky winner of our iPad giveaway!

Megan Baker Co-Chair for Taste of Independence

The Taste of Independence was held at the Residence Inn, Independence on Thursday, February 24, 2011 with10 local restaurants on display for more than100attendees to sample and enjoy.100% of the ticket proceeds were donated to the Relay for Life of Independence, benefitting the American Cancer Society. The event raised both awareness and $2,000 in funds for the first annual Relay for Life of Independence which will be held on June 17 - 18, 2011. BRG Holiday Spirit

Benefits Resource Group will be adopting two local families again this holiday season. The first was arranged through Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Cleveland and the second will be a local military family in need. Employees will be selecting items from the wish list ornament tree set up in the office, wrapping and delivering the presents. We look forward to bringing some good old fashioned holiday cheer to our "extended families" this season and making some of their Christmas wishes come true!

BRG Participates in Food Drive for The Hunger Network of Greater Cleveland

This holiday season, Benefits Resource Group employees not only gave thanks, they gave to those in need. As in years past, our employees split into competitive teams to see just how much we could contribute. This year, the recipient of our food drive efforts was The Hunger Network of Greater Cleveland and we were very proud to be able to deliver a total of 1,579 pounds of food with $560 in cash donations.

BRG Participates in Coat Drive for Love, Inc.

For the second year in a row, BRG Principal Linda Cahill coordinated efforts with our employees to participate in a coat drive for Love, Inc. This year we gathered more than 70 coats which are will be dry cleaned and provided to those in need for the cold weather ahead.

Jason Farro named to Big Brothers Big Sisters Board

Jason Farro, BRG Principal, has been named to the board of Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Greater Cleveland. BRG hosted a fundraiser luncheon on September 22nd and raised $1,000 in support of the important work BBBS does in our community. BRG Platinum Sponsor for 2010 Summer Scurry Event

BRG is proud to have been a sponsor at this year’s Summer Scurry event in Independence to raise money for cancer research.
The final numbers aren’t in yet, but event sponsors and planners hoped to exceed the $55,000 raised last year. Money raised is used
to fund research projects in Pittsburgh, the United Kingdom, and France to find a cure for Pseudomyxoma Peritonei (PMP).

The Susan G Komen Breast Cancer 3 Day Event

This year’s event supporting breast cancer research was scheduled for July 30 - August 1, 2010. Two members of the BRG team – Megan Baker and Stacie Geiger, volunteered on a crew that set up what seem like small villages to feed, water, and re-energize the participants who walked 60 miles in three days. Cleveland Reads Event

On July 16, 2010 Cleveland Reads will host the ninth annual Reds, Whites and Brews event to support the important work this group
does to promote literacy. Linda Cahill, BRG Principal, is a board member and encourages everyone to consider attending this fun and worthwhile event at Windows on the River. For more information, visit www.ClevelandReads.org.

Project Hope Tote

In these tough economic times, our community resources, including homeless shelters, need our support more than ever. The BRG staff recently pitched in to help the Haven of Rest shelter by preparing tote bags with personal care items such as toothpaste, shampoo and soap for their residents. Supporting the Humane Society of Greater Akron

The BRG team has a soft spot for struggling non-profits, which is why we recently donated $1,000 to the Humane Society of Greater Akron.
